As we were growing up, entertaining in our home was not just an evening, it was
a way of life and a gift of love. When people were coming over, there was not one
course but three. Appetisers and cocktails abounded, flowers from the garden decorated
the tables making guests feel welcomed, spoiled and fawned over; allowing our guests
to savour the Indian or Asian foods and drink, the conversations would be flowing.
This alone was to make them feel they didn’t want to leave. Our total desire was
for an invitation to return and experience more Asian lifestyle. It was not about
impressing them but about honouring them as guests in our home.
I took those pleasures and memories, those desires to please and honour and in 2001,
created Do Dil, Weddings and Events Management Company. Do Dil means 'two hearts'
in Indian.
Do Dil has gone from strength to strength; now with a huge client portfolio and
experience both in the Indian, Asian and Western weddings and the Event decor and
Management industry under our belt, we continue to respond to our clients' needs
by handling the entire process of creating and producing individualised weddings
and events, whether it's on a small or a large scale, fabulous wedding or a corporate
event.
I am Rani Binning the Company’s director. I was born in India in 1962 and came to
UK in 1963. I have a science, education and management background. My skills have
been the backbone of setting up and driving this business forward. My ability to
learn new skills is very evident as I comfortably made the transition into the wedding
and event management industry. With my educational and managerial qualifications
under my belt and more recently gained floristry qualification in 2005, I feel confident
to seek new horizons and take the company further to new levels.
I am indebted to Sally Cohern an interior designer who joined the company in 2002.
Her energy spurred her creativity in style and design for both the Indian and Asian
markets as well as Corporate Event Management. Sally’s skills have given her the
phenomenal ability of co-ordination and organisation. Sally’s designs in venue Decoration,
Theming, Wedding stages and Mandaps has been outstanding. Her constant quest for
learning transfers to the company’s success and clients' benefits.
Shelly Clements' position as chief florist has continuously challenged her to create
fresh, new designs. Her love of nature and beauty has created a style unsurpassed
and can be seen in every design she creates, whether it's flowers as centre-pieces
or flowers for the Mandaps, or just general decor for an Event or Wedding.
The waiters, drivers and support team's skills and expertise is the backbone of
the business. It is their skills that enable the planned work to be implemented.
Together, the team at Do Dil have created a company which relishes the client and
the challenges of providing weddings and events of understated elegance and unimaginable
creativity. Each wedding and event we do leaves our clients and guests breathless
upon entering, speechless throughout, and begging for more upon leaving.
